It was a jam-packed wedding weekend. Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday – it was a wedding trifecta.
9:30am on Saturday came, and we hopped in the car and began the drive to the beautiful, elegant, and timeless Kiawah Island Golf Resort. The rising temperatures and heavy humidity greeted us happily, along with giant Angel Oaks and views of the marsh.
We arrived at the Presidential Suite where Allison and her bridesmaids were getting their hair and makeup finished up. They each had on pajama styled rompers with floral patterns AND pockets, as well as individualized monogrammed coffee mugs – incredible.
Words simply can’t do the ocean views justice. The suite was filled with French doors in every room, which lead to outstanding lookouts from basically any angle.
After finishing up some bridal portraits, bridesmaids photos, and detail shots, we made our way downstairs to find Dan and his groomsmen. From the moment we walked in, you could feel the tight bond between Dan and his guys. Their room was complete with a bucket of hard seltzers and beer, and a flight of fresh and hot chicken sandwiches.
After snapping some photos of the resort, the ceremony began outside on the back lawn. With the setting sun off to the side of the resort walls, and the sounds of waves crashing in the distance, it was one of the most serene and picturesque ceremony sites.
The cocktail hour and reception followed shortly after, both filled with absolutely delicious food options. The Grand Oaks Ballroom was the site for the reception, completed with a makeshift hallway bar and photo-op greenery wall with a neon sign.
After first dances and speeches were wrapped up, the lights were dimmed and the dance party began. Complete with glow sticks and a live band, it was a great time. Even better was when halfway through the reception, a hot bar of chicken sandwiches and tater tots were brought out. Late night snacks? Yes please!
Allison and Dan exited with a glow stick tunnel to end the wonderful night. We hopped in our car, made the long trek home, and prepared for Sunday’s wedding.
Was it a crazy busy weekend? For sure. Would we do it again in a heartbeat to always be a part of these special days? Absolutely, without a doubt.
