Kate and Sam are an incredible couple I had the honor of photographing last month. Surprisingly, they actually met on their FIRST night of college at the Catholic church on campus at the University of Kentucky. They spent their time during college getting to know each other better before Sam visited Kate on the 4th of July in 2016 and proposed on the beach @ Isle of Palms near Charleston. Sounds like a dream proposal! 🙂 Of course, she said YES! and they set their wedding for June 2017 right after they graduate from U of K.
Their wedding was the first Catholic wedding I had the privilege to document and it was an incredible experience to witness. The day started off with the Catholic Mass wedding ceremony at the St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Simpsonville, SC. The ceremony was incredibly powerful and moving – it was a joy to witness such a deeply religious celebration of two people and two families coming together. Right after the ceremony we were whisked away to the Windy Hill Wedding and Event Barn in Simpsonville where Kate & Sam was the spotlight of the evening in a rustic, country, southern reception. It was so cute, summery and outdoorsy!
The reception was wonderful! Kate and her dad even had a choreographed dance planned for the father/daughter dance… It was priceless seeing them have so much fun before everyone took the floor with them and danced all night long.
Congratulations Kate and Sam! You two are the best!
